First Grade Class Teacher
The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh (WSP) seeks an enthusiastic and engaged grades teacher to take our First Grade class in the 2021–2022 school year. We are looking for a teacher dedicated to Waldorf Education to join a cohesive, strong faculty circle.
Our school is in its 27th year and serves approximately 200 students. We offer parent/child programs, a child care program, kindergartens, and a full grades program (grades 1–8). Our 2.4 acre urban campus includes multiple outdoor spaces and is primarily housed in a historic Victorian home. WSP’s eighth grade classroom, the Heartwood Annex, is a newly completed stand alone classroom built to meet Core Green Building Certification. It will be the first classroom of its kind for a school in our region. Our grades program includes woodwork, handwork, and music (instrumental, orchestral & choir), physical education, Russian and Spanish.
We offer a salary with increments for teaching experience, dental and health insurance, and tuition remission for faculty children. WSP is a fully accredited member of AWSNA and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, and three years classroom teaching experience with the ability to meet the needs of various learning approaches and styles. Waldorf teacher training and Pennsylvania certification are preferred.
